Dancing With the Stars's Brittany Cherry hit by enormous wave during a beach shoot
The professional dancers on Dancing With the Stars have total control over their bodies, bending and moving in amazing ways — but they don't have any control over Mother Nature.
That's something current DWTS and former So You Think You Can Dance pro Brittany Cherry learned the hard way on a recent beach photoshoot.
The 21-year-old was posing glamorously on a rock in the ocean when a wave came rumbling toward her, crashing into the rock and soaking her completely from head to toe.

Don't worry: Because it doesn't seem like a threat until it hits the rock, he just tells her to be 'very stoic'

In an Instagram clip of the incident, Brittany is seen standing barefoot on the rock, wearing a black spaghetti-strap gown with a high slit.
She's lifting up the skirt of the dress and letting it down in a graceful move while photographers Derek and Drew Riker snap away.
Off-camera, one of the photographers can be heard saying that there's a wave coming up behind her — though he doesn't seem to be worried about it.
'Just be very stoic,' he advises her, and she seems to follow his instructions, standing in a ballet pose with one of her feet turned inward, holding her body tall and still.

To be fair, the wave doesn't look too big as it's coming toward her — in fact, the rolling water comes up lower than the height of the rock.
But as it crashes into the rock, the wave explodes, creating a wall of water that crashes over her and soaks her from head to toe.
Brittany looks surprised — for the split second you can see her before she's engulfed by the water that is. Then, she's totally hidden, coming out on the other side of the wave absolutely drenched.
The dancer seems shocked, her black dress now wet and clinging to her as her hair drips around her shoulders.

Impressively, she's managed to remain balanced on the rock, and after a second of recovery shouts: 'Oh my god!'

She certainly seems to be good at keeping her composure — a must for someone who appears on live TV.
In addition to several performances on Dancing With the Stars, Brittany danced on the TV show's live tour and competed on season ten of So You Think You Can Dance. She was also in Ed Sheeran's music video for Thinking Out Loud.
