Lakers' billionaire owner who once posed nude in Playboy gets hitched to famous actor

Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss has celebrated a beach wedding with famous actor Jay Mohr after six years of dating.

The billionaire was previously married to volleyball player Steve Timmons but the pair got divorced after three years as she then began a relationship with legendary NBA head coach Phil Jackson several years later.

The duo called time on their 17-year romance in 2016, just a year before she reportedly began dating Mohr, who famously starred in blockbuster film Jerry Maguire.

Buss has now got hitched to the actor/comedian in a picturesque wedding in Malibu that 20 close friends and family attended, according to TMZ.

The pair announced their engagement in December 2022 and are now married just nine months later as the Lakers' owner also celebrates her 62nd birthday later on this month.

Aside from her position as owner of one of the biggest sports franchises in the world, Buss made headlines in 1995 as the-then 32-year-old made the decision to model nude for Playboy.

Buss has spoken about the reasons behind participating in the magazine as she said it was her own "personal goal".

"When I posed, I was 32 years old, it wasn't like I was making a mistake that I didn't know what I was getting myself into," she said on the Daddy Issues podcast in 2020.

"For me, I was at the maturity level that I could do it. And I was like every other model, I had to go through the test photo shoot and all that kind of stuff.

"It was my own personal goal, not anything to do with business or anything. Just something I wanted to do."

Buss paid special tribute to her father Jerry, who purchased the Lakers in 1979, for his reaction to her inclusion in Playboy, calling him "one of the most brilliant people".

"My dad is again one of the most brilliant people," she said. "He gave a quote that was so perfect, where he said, 'It will be the first issue of Playboy magazine I've never read.'

"Meaning, he's endorsing the magazine, but I'm his daughter, right. He can walk that fine line of not being judgmental or putting me down."
